Can You Save on Expensive Dental Treatments?

hydrofloss

I guess this article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use.I really think this device is something that should be discussed.

At one point, my dentist and her assitant hygienist wanted to convince me that something had to be done about my gingivitis problems. They seemed very strong and even a bit forceful that I really needed this treatment.

Their plan involved something called a ‘scaling and root planing’. This is also referred to as a SRP.

This was not an exciting thing to hear. It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.

The hygienist explained that she would delve down below my gums with strange sounding instruments that would permit her to remove the build up of calculus there. She also intended to make the surfaces smooth so that it would be harder for calculus build-up to return.

This procedure appeared to be even worse than I first imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!

It seemed to me that it was going to be a bit painful when the meds left my system. This was not the kind of exciting story you want to share with your friends.

She explained that should I decide not to have this therapy, they could not be held accountable for what could happen to my teeth. I had to show that I understood by putting my signature on a waiver. Could things get any worse?

Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. It was difficult to believe this was anything other than a slick marketing ploy.

Eventually, the final issue appeared that pushed me ‘over the edge’ towards a decision. The hygienist told me that it would be best if they started today. She wanted to do this instead of my regular cleaning routine.

Her reasoning certainly made a lot of sense. She was stuck on a potential problem with insurance. Should I get the standard, regular cleaning procedure now, insurance might not be inclined to pay for the advanced one later.I strongly believed that I needed to think this over before I could commit to what they were asking.

I decided to decline because there was a strong sense inside me that this was not a good idea. Oddly enough, the waiver issue did not come up again.

The entire predicament seemed very surreal to me.I felt that their HAD to be another way to heal my gums.

I learned that someone I was familiar with had this treatment done to her.She confided that the outcome was not good in her opinion.

I looked for an answer that would make sense to me.I stumbled upon the HydroFloss Irrigator.I decided to get one.

When the device arrived, I was full of hope. I knew that I was supposed to receive an instructional video with my Hydro Floss but it wasn’t in the package.

I sent off a request asking them to send me the missing video. It was easy sailing from that point on and I received the video.I seemed to be a bit happy after watching the video.

I felt confident that this device was going to work for me.I committed to utilizing it often each day.

It was several months later when I went back to visit my dentist. I was delighted by the reaction from them.

The same assistant and doctor took a good look at my gums. Each agreed that there was a vast improvement.I was told that there was no longer any need to worry about that scaling and root planing treatment.

You can probably understand that I was elated to hear this good news. I continue to utilize the hydro floss every day, unless I’m out of town travelling.

If you have been wondering if the HydroFloss is really worth it, let me tell you: In my opinion, it really is worth it! That’s based on my exposure to the device.

Anxious Parents can Find Children With GPS Child Locator Device

June 3rd, 2009 No comments

Every now and then we see stories on the news and in the newspapers about kids that have disappeared. Most children turn up safe again, but some don’t and there is nothing sadder than a parent who experiences the loss of their child like this. The good news is that you don’t have to endure something like this because there are ways to avoid lost kids with today’s technology. I’m talking about a GPS child locator.

Kids GPS devices at present are tiny widgets and they are integrated in watches, cell phones, backpacks; even placed directly in your kid’s clothing. The child locator will then send out a signal enabling you to track the location of your kids at all times. You can encode the GPS device to send signals at intervals as short as 15 seconds for near real time tracking of your children.

GPS technology works fantastic for tracking kids that are at high risk due to child custody issues or similar problems. It is possible to set the widget up so that it will alert you not only to your child’s location, but also if the child leaves a predesignated area or boundary. So you can know if your kid leaves their school or the neighborhood playground or pool. Envision the peace of mind you’ll have when you know that you can simply log into your computer and instantly know where your child is thanks to the child tracker device.

Some GPS gadgets also come with a panic button that the child can use in case of an emergency. The alarm go not only to you, but also to the tracking service so the authorities can be notified in a timely manner. Often when kids are kidnapped the kidnapper will instantaneously get rid of any cell phone the child may be carrying to prevent being tracked. With a small concealed GPS tracking device attached to your child’s clothing you’ll still be able to track them and locate them quickly. You and more importantly the police will know exactly where to locate the kid and this increases the chances they will be found unharmed dramatically.

GPS gadgets for small children can be as small as a watch or pager and they run on rechargeable batteries that last up to 24 hours. If you want something with an extended battery life you can get bigger GPS tracking units that can transmit for up to 2 weeks on a single charge. Older kids like teens can have the GPS units placed in their car to keep track of their locations and driving habits. Some auto GPS units can be configured to send an alert when the car exceeds a certain speed limit.

While personal GPS units are not cheap you really can’t put a price on the peace of mind you’ll get knowing you can locate your child in case of some emergency. When the safety of the child is at risk nothing is too expensive. In addition to the cost of the GPS device itself you’ll also need to pay a tracking service which will run anywhere from $25-100 a month depending on the service and features. Having a GPS device tracking the kid can be a great way to grant yourself peace of mind.
